The International Conference on Languages and Cultures will be held from October 4 through 7, 2011, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Graduate Programs in Linguistics (PPGLg), Literature (PPGL) and English (PPGI) at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), in Florianópolis, Brazil. The event will bring together Brazilian and foreign researchers, teachers and students involved in the different areas of the three Programs, providing a space for an evaluation of the history of language and literature studies and for the discussion of important issues in these fields.
